Sue-lee took the plunge & got her All-On-Implants
Your first step is to visit the Auckland Implant Centre and meet with Dr James Philpott. He will listen to your dental and health history in a caring way, and examine your mouth and take a jaw X-ray.
Our patients often begin this journey scared and emotional, but we strive to take the time to make you feel comfortable.
We will evaluate your specific needs, personal aspirations, and check if a dental implant is right for you. We will provide a written quote and formulate a treatment plan right there are then, and let you take this information home to think about what is best for you.

In the second phase of your journey, you visit the clinic to have 3D CT scans of your jaw taken, digital scan impressions (no more gagging mouthfuls of impression paste), and beginning photographs. Doctor James Philpott will analyse these to formulate your exact and unique surgical and restorative plan.
The highlight of your treatment journey is here – your surgery day. This transformative day will be a turning point in your life.
Most of our patients are a little nervous, but our caring team of nurses and anaesthetists will ensure your well-being and comfort. You can relax in our private rooms with lazy boys, as we get things ready. Our anaesthetists will safely send you off to sleep in our modern, state-of-the-art operating theatre with the support of the nurses and anaesthetic technicians.
While you are asleep, any remaining teeth and infections are removed, and four surgical grade titanium implants are carefully placed into your jaw bone, creating the stable base for your brilliant new smile. We then place some stitches, scan your new implants and gum, before waking you and taking you into recovery.
When ready, you can head home and we get to work creating your new smile.
Two to three days later you returned to our clinic where we simply fit your beautiful, provisional teeth. We carefully explain how to care for your mouth as the healing phase begins.
Most of our patients are amazed at this visit with how little pain they have had after the surgery. Caring for you as our priority. We get to enjoy the grand reveal, and celebrate in the life changing step you have taken.
Three weeks after fitting your teeth we review how your journey is going, and include a visit with one of our hygiene specialists who will teach you how to clean and care for your new teeth. We will even give you a water flosser to make it easier.
After four months you returned to meet with Dr. Philpott who will take a new 3D CT scanto ensure everything is healing successfully. We will then start the journey of crafting your long term ceramic teeth.
You can think of your provisional teeth that we fit after surgery, as a test drive set. You can tell us about your preferences, what you liked and what you may want to change. We can make any adjustments you need to ensure you are completely happy with your final fixed teeth. This critical step is missed in most clinics, who go straight to final teeth were no changes can then be made.
When the new final ceramic teeth are ready we will swap out your provisional teeth for the amazing long term ones. This is the final stage in your transformation and marks the beginning of your future filled with confidence and smiles. Throughout the upgrade process you are never without teeth.
Our commitment to maintaining a success rate of over 99% is due to our comprehensive follow up protocol. Our two stage approach of a provisional set of teeth before the final set helps us achieve this. Also, our two years of hygiene care and follow up exams and xrays sets us apart from other clinics in New Zealand. Our commitment to care is strong!
Following the simple aftercare guidelines around cleaning your new smile is a crucial component of the process. This not only equips you with the knowledge and confidence needed for this life-altering transformation, but also ensures the longevity and success of the treatment.
It’s important to remember that unlike natural teeth, your new implants can not get decay, however they still require diligent oral hygiene and regular professional cleanings. With consistent care, your new dental implants have the potential to last a lifetime.
Our commitment to safety and patient care is underscored by our Dental Implant Warranty. This should give you further comfort and assurance to keep smiling well into the future.
At Auckland Implant Centre, we believe it’s never too late to restore your teeth – and your quality of life. Our caring, judgement-free team is here to guide you every step of the way, helping you regain not just your smile, but the freedom to eat, laugh and live with confidence.
