Dr. James Philpott is a dental surgeon with a special interest and strong experience in dental implants. Dr Philpott treats all areas of implant dentistry including simple cases, through to more complex cases and full mouth All On Implant treatments.
Dr. Philpott has worked at the clinic in West Auckland for over 15 years, providing high quality implant treatments with care and precision. He has built a great team who help everyone feel relaxed and cared for. He has placed over 2000 implants, with success rates of over 99%.
Dr. Philpott is a member of numerous professional organisations including the New Zealand Dental Association; the Auckland Dental Association, is a founding member of the New Zealand Society of Oral Implantology. He also teaches and assists in training and education in New Zealand for dentists wanting to learn more about dental implant surgery.
James was born in Palmerston North where he grew up. After completing his degree in Dunedin at the University of Otago and graduating with distinction, he worked in both hospital and general practice dental settings in the deep south, before moving to Auckland where he has continued to work at the same clinic since arriving. He has completed training and continuing education in New Zealand, Australia and South Africa, and having the opportunity to work along side some highly skilled and regarded surgeons.
When taking a break from work you can find him either in the kitchen entertaining his family and friends, or knee deep in the garden keeping things green.

Dental Surgeon
Dr. Alex grew up in Christchurch and has developed a strong clinical focus on dental implant surgery, with a commitment to delivering precise, gentle, and patient-centered care. He understands that implant treatment can feel daunting for many patients and places great importance on clear communication, careful planning, and a calm surgical experience from consultation through to completion.
Dr. Alex has completed a year-long, one-on-one implantology training program (ACE Implant Institute) providing advanced hands-on experience in implant placement and surgical protocols. With over five years of clinical experience placing a wide range of dental implants, he has managed straightforward to more complex implant cases, always prioritizing long-term function, comfort, and predictable outcomes.
His academic background includes a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (BBiomedSc) from the University of Otago. Dr. Alex was invited as one of two representatives from New Zealand to attend the 2018 IDEM International Conference in Singapore, and later as a seminar presenter for dentists at the 2021 APDSA International Seminar, reflecting his ongoing involvement in advanced dental education.
Outside of clinical practice, Alex enjoys exploring New Zealand’s walking trails, discovering new cafes and fine dining venues, participating in motorsports, and relaxing by playing the piano.

Dental Surgeon
Dr Aaron Graduated from the University of Queensland in 2014 with Honours and has been working with Dental Care West since 2015. As a long serving member of the team, his sense of loyalty and trust reflects in how he treats his patients. Aaron takes pride in treating his patients with respect and creating a comfortable environment for a mutual and holistic approach to dental treatment.
Dr Aaron has worked to develop and expand his range of dentistry to be able to provide a complete treatment plan for any problem, personality and patient. He has studied implantology at one of New Zealand’s most comprehensive training programs. He has a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry and uses all his tools at hand to provide multiple options for treatment to tailor everyone’s needs
Aaron loves to spend his spare time with friends and family.
